Memorial Rites & Funeral Services

One of the primary reasons that I attended United Theological Seminary is that I felt the calling to provide services of a Spiritual nature for those of us who find our understanding of Spirit outside of an established church.  Many of us may have a history of tradition within a particular denomination but we are no longer active as members within a congregation. Many of us simply have a faithful understanding that is not stated in the language of organized religion.  There are times, however, that such an organized element becomes something we are at a loss for.  One such time is when we are experiencing the loss of someone we love.  There is a need to create, to speak, to memorialize and honor our loved one.  Without an established place or person to fill the role of providing assistance family and friends can find themselves with limited choices in how to appropriately honor and respect the spirit of one who has died.
This is part of my calling in pastoral care.  I am willing to work with you to create a dignified and honorable memorial service.
Let me assist you in finding language that speaks in heart and soul, let me guide you in creating a ceremony that provides sacred space for remembrance,
for celebration of life, and for shared expression of grief.
Please feel free to call with any questions, I am happy to assist you in any way that I am able.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
